Document Search¶
FactSet’s Document Search section is an AI-enabled document workspace that aggregates transcripts, earnings calls, news, filings, research, and internal notes into a single searchable interface. It is designed to help users move from raw unstructured text to auditable insights by combining rich metadata, filters, and preview tools across millions of documents.
Document Search section of FactSet provides the following data:
- All News & Docs — A consolidated results list of all document types linked to companies, watchlists, sectors, or keywords, including headlines, sources, timestamps, identifiers, and quick access to document previews.
- Company/Watchlist and Keyword Search — Search inputs that let users query by company identifier, watchlist, text keyword, or a combination of these, turning the workspace into a flexible retrieval tool for specific issuers or themes.
- Date and Period Filters — Controls for selecting lookback windows (e.g., 1 year or custom ranges) and narrowing the results to documents produced within specified time frames.
- Document-Type Filters — Options to limit the search to particular document categories (for example, transcripts, filings, research reports, press releases), tailoring the output to the user’s workflow.
- Results Insights and Trends — Summary statistics and insights over the current result set, such as counts by document type, issuer, or topic, and trend views that show how document activity evolves over time.
- Filings — Access to regulatory filings and formal company disclosures, with metadata for issuer, jurisdiction, filing type, date, and headline.
- Research — Broker and independent research reports available via FactSet, including titles, providers, and links into full-text documents.
- Transcripts & Slides — Earnings-call and event transcripts along with associated slide decks, plus event-level metadata such as date, time, company, event type, and source.
- Notes — Internal research notes and commentary created by users, searchable alongside external documents and enriched with subjects, sentiment tags, recommendations, and attachments.
- Document Preview Panel — A right-hand panel that displays the full content or rendered view of the selected document, with zoom, page navigation, and options to export or download as PDF.
- Export and Integration — Tools to export selected documents or lists, and to integrate document retrieval into workflows via APIs and downstream analytics.
